Straperetana 2018 | Idle Time

This year Straperetana will include a title: idle time, which references the sense of stasis and tranquility of Pereto, perched on a mountain in a dominant position above the valley. Here, time appears to almost manifest itself in alternating phases, with the town’s old signs, dated buildings and anachronistic traditions and customs. Time goes by, but without an easily definably rhythm. It appears to kiss the hamlet and to define its characters, seemingly suspended between a sense of waiting and a desire to be unaffected by change.

The 17 participating artists of this year’s edition of Straperetana are:

Francesco Alberico (Pescara, 1996), José Angelino (Ragusa, 1977), Francesco Arena (Torre Santa Susanna (BR), 1978), Elisabetta Benassi (Roma, 1966), Lupo Borgonovo (Milano, 1985), Thomas Braida (Gorizia, 1982), Simone Camerlengo (Pescara 1989), Michela de Mattei (Roma, 1984), Roberto Fassone (Savigliano (CN), 1986), Matteo Fato (Pescara, 1979), Flavio Favelli (Firenze, 1967), Corinna Gosmaro (Savigliano (CN), 1987), Lorenzo Kamerlengo (Pescara, 1988), Valerio Nicolai (Gorizia, 1988), Alfredo Pirri (Cosenza, 1957), Nicola Samorì (Forlì, 1977), Sissi (Bologna, 1977).
